Keyboard Shortcuts
These shortcuts work in iKanban on the Mac. On an iPad with a keyboard, the ones listed at the end work as well.
App and windows (Mac)
Section titled “App and windows (Mac)”- ⌘, — Settings
- ⌘? — iKanban Help
- ⇧⌘0 — Main Window, if you closed it
- ⇧⌘B — Board, the board as a separate window
- ⌘[ — Back to where you came from
- ⌘N — New Card
- ⇧⌘N — New List
- ⇧⌘E — Expand All Lists or Collapse All Lists on the board
- ⌘S — Save the card, list, project, plan section or file you’re editing
- Return confirms a dialog, Esc cancels it.
- Return in the search field jumps to the Board when the current view shows no cards. Back returns.
Board (Mac)
Section titled “Board (Mac)”- ⌘-click — add a card to the selection or remove it
- ⇧-click — select all cards between the last selected card and this one
With several cards selected, right-click one of them for the actions that apply to all.
Inbox and Weekly Review
Section titled “Inbox and Weekly Review”- Y — Yes, I can act on it when you process the Inbox Card by Card
- N — No, nothing to do
- Return — Next or Mark Reviewed & Next in the Weekly Review
Mindmap (Mac)
Section titled “Mindmap (Mac)”Click the map first so it has the keyboard focus.
- Tab — new sub-idea under the selected idea
- Return — new idea on the same level
- Delete — delete the selected idea
- Arrow keys — move the selection: left and right between parent and child, up and down between ideas on the same level
- Esc — clear the selection
- ⌘+, ⌘−, ⌘0 — zoom in, zoom out, actual size
Organize (Mac)
Section titled “Organize (Mac)”In the outline next to the mindmap:
- Return — save the row and start a new one below
- Tab and ⇧Tab — indent and outdent
- ⌘↑ and ⌘↓ — move the row up or down
- ↑ and ↓ — go to the previous or next row
- ⌥← and ⌥→ — collapse and expand a branch
- Delete in an empty row — remove the row
- Esc — leave the outline
Pinboard (Mac)
Section titled “Pinboard (Mac)”- ⌥⌘N — Insert › Sticky Note
- Delete — remove the selected item or string from the pinboard
- Esc — clear the selection or finish editing a note
- ⌘+, ⌘−, ⌘0 — zoom in, zoom out, actual size
Sketches and journals (Mac)
Section titled “Sketches and journals (Mac)”- ⌘+, ⌘−, ⌘0 — zoom a sketch in, out and to actual size
- ← and → — previous and next page in a journal
iPad with a keyboard
Section titled “iPad with a keyboard”- ⌘? — Help
- ⌘[ — Back
- ⌘S — Save in the card details and in editors
- ⌘+, ⌘−, ⌘0 — zoom in mindmaps and pinboards (tap the canvas first)
- Y and N — answer the first question when you process the Inbox Card by Card
- Return confirms a dialog, Esc cancels it.
- Esc — leave full screen
