Privacy
iKanban is built so that your data never touches our servers — there are none, and there is no iKanban account.
- Your cards are Apple Reminders. They live in your Reminders database and sync through your personal iCloud account, under Apple’s privacy terms.
- Your files stay in your iCloud Drive, in the iKanban folder: project folders with plan.md, pinboards, sketches, journals, mindmaps and archived lists.
- Areas, review dates and color meanings are stored in that folder and in your private iCloud key-value storage.
- Apple Watch and Apple TV read a snapshot of your board from your private CloudKit database — only your devices, signed in with your Apple Account, can read it.
- The assistant runs on your device. It uses the Apple Intelligence model on your device; handwriting is read with Apple’s on-device text recognition. Your notes, cards and pages are not sent anywhere.
- External agents on the Mac are planned for after 4.0 as part of a future Pro subscription. The local MCP prototype is described in the development outlook. How an external agent processes data depends on its app and model provider; a local connection does not mean that all processing stays on your device.
- Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight and widgets use Apple’s on-device frameworks.
- The bar “Show our apps” shows a list built into the app; links open only when you tap them. You can turn it off in Settings.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers. iKanban collects nothing.
