Here we share features that are taking shape, with screenshots from working prototypes. Each update describes what the prototype already does and what remains open.
Work on iKanban 4.1 starts directly after uploading 4.0 to the App Store. The next topics are attachments, iKanban Pro and the workflow with external agents. There is no release date yet; the scope can still change.
Your project, with your chosen agent
Section titled “Your project, with your chosen agent”The idea: work on the same projects and ideas in iKanban and with an external agent, for example Codex in iTerm or Speccify. The MCP connection gives the agent access to the project context so that the results can become part of your work in iKanban.
Working today: the MCP interface can create a mindmap with ideas in a project. Here, “Gemeinsam planen” was created with three ideas and then opened in the Mac app. The entire example uses isolated demo data.
Still being developed: the complete setup and everyday workflow with an external client. This workflow is planned for a future iKanban Pro subscription; its scope and configuration are still being defined. It is outside the 4.0 release, and there is no public MCP download yet. How an external agent processes data depends on the service you choose.
What comes next
Section titled “What comes next”Attachments and the design of Pro are planned next. We will show more as soon as there are working prototypes to demonstrate them. Screenshots and the status of each feature will be updated here as development progresses.
